Just don't dream...

As most of you knew, I have been wanting to buy different gadgets for myself this year. Like a personal laptop, digital camera and iphone. It's going to take a while though before I can buy all of these but I want to make sure I will achieve them this year.

If I am able to get enough funds I will be asking my best friend Czarina to accompany me to Greenhills where I can buy the gadgets I want and also iphone accessories and other necessary things for my dream gadgets.

Well, I just don't dream for having those gadgets so I have to work harder so I can save enough to achieve them. So help me God!

What's in your purse?

It's common to us girls to always bring bags or purses with us every time we go out of our homes. It doesn't matter what the size of the purses we bring along with us as long as we can slid our kikay kits and little things that are necessary for our outdoor experience. Men might be wondering what's inside our purses.

Well, personally, my must-brings I usually have in my purse are: make up kit, wallet, unlocked phone and sun glasses. Just the basic necessities that will fit in my sling bag.

What about you? What's inside your purse?

Sharing A Piece Of Me To The Virtual World

Blogosphere is the world I wouldn't have known if not for my dear cousin Lainy's ceaseless prodding. I never had confidence in my writing ability and I was somehow afraid of criticisms. I was also scared of opening up a piece of myself to a wider audience - the virtual world.

I love writing about my thoughts, my opinions and aspirations. But I just kept them mostly to myself and write about them on my personal journals since grade school. My mom was the only one who was able to read them after I moved here in Luzon since I left most of my stuffs at home. I felt a little uncomfortable when she told me that she read my diaries. I was quite embarassed because my privacy was invaded. And then she commented about my writing skill. She said, "Magaling ka pala magsulat ng english, nak?" (you write fairly well in english). Well, atleast she knew I can write good english! Lol!

In The Eyes Of The Beholder

I went home August of last year to recuperate from being sick with Tuberculosis. I was on my second month of treatment and I spent a lot of time at Lainy's house. When I was there, Lainy kept barging me with encouragement about blogging. At first, I really don't want to blog because I knew for sure that I won't be consistent on my posts and that writing is really not my passion.

But Lainy won't stop from urging me and she would keep on saying that I am a good writer and that I would be able to earn from blogging and blah blah! And I said, "Wait! Did you just say EARN from blogging?". When she said "Yes" and talked about how much she had already compensated out of her blogging, I forgot about my hesitations and excuses! I suddenly thought that blogging could also be my second passion! Of course, music still comes first!

After Lainy signed me up for an account in blogger.com, I started doing my first entry- My First Blog, on August 21. Actually I was able to write 4 posts that day! I was unstoppable! I discovered that writing was indeed my passion!

I got more exuberant with blogging when Ivy of The Designer Chic came up with a cool layout for my blog. After giving my instructions about tribal designs, Ivy was able to find the scrutinizing beautiful eyes for the header. That's how my blog title - In The Eyes Of The Beholder, came about.

I wrote just about everything! My Supermom, my job as a Call Center Agent, my fun adventures: Samal Island Get-Away, The Zipline Experience, Camiguin Escapade which were indeed unforgettable. I'm really glad I was able to write about them!

That's my mom! It's her first time to watch one of our gigs

I made not only fun entries on this blog. Blogging is also one of my tunnels where I vent my frustrations out! The most memorable rant-post was - I Had A Bad Day because with that, I was able to meet great friends who gave me great advises! The best I got was Windmill's reminder of: The story about the man who complained that he had no shoes until he met a man who had no feet.

Everytime I receive comments, I really feel happy. I said to myself, "Hey! Someone cared about my thoughts!". Online friends basically are one of the reasons that I keep blogging. Their encouragements, advises and following their good examples are my motivations.

I also wrote sentimental entries. One of them is If Only... which is about missing my Dad and asking forgiveness for not being a good daughter when he was alive. Well, there really where things in the past that you couldn't fix. That's why there are regrets. I hope those who read that entry would find time to make amends with their loved ones while they're still alive.

I also got the chance to share to this virtual world my greatest passion which is music with my homegrown band - Kuerdas. I know I have already posted about this video and Lainy too but just for those who haven't seen this, I hope you get entertained!

I'm Walking On Sunshine

When I was already earning quite a bit on my first blog after I signed up for PayU2Blog, as always, Lainy encouraged me to create my second blog. She told me that the more blogs I have, the more earnings I'd get. So I started another blog on November 17 and named it - I'm Walking On Sunshine, since I decided to pour out happy and inspiring thoughts on that blog.

Ivy was still the one responsible for the beautiful design of that blog. So chic and neat!

How Blogging Changed My Life

Blogging has made me appreciate my life even more. Not only does it give me extra income but also I was able to discover a lot of things about myself especially my writing ability. I am glad that I was able to share things about myself with the hopes of touching other people's lives the same way they touch my life.

Although I am full of procrastination, which is a bad habit I try to get rid of, blogging always make me refocus on my goals. With my virtual friends' encouragement and inspiration, I still keep on blogging and I am still enthusiastic about it!

Whom Do I Give Credit For My Blog Experience?

I owe this wonderful blog experience to my dearest cousin, Lainy! You were always there for me, Te. Thank you because you never failed to believe in my talents and abilities. You actually believed in me first before I believed in myself! Lol!

Not only the blog experience that I am thankful for you, Ate. I also thank you for being there as my mentor and my friend. You and your family have always been there for me especially on the times that I had nowhere to go. I was such a rebel before but you guys understood me. Thank you for always rescuing me. Geez! I want to cry! Lol!

I love you te and I hope that God will bless you more! I hope you'd get married soon to your prince - Scotty so that I would get to see my half-Australian nieces or nephews!

Happy 1 year Blogoversary!!!

It's All Bout The Money

Working for extra hours and still going to work even on my supposed rest days keep me busy lately. I need to work harder this time so I can send extra money to my family and at the same time, I could buy whatever I want.

So here's what happens almost everyday of my life: I wake up around 1 in the morning and go to work at 2. I typically do pre-shift over times for an hour or two since over times are not allowed after 1pm.

Work ends at 1pm then I immediately attend to my blogging chores (i.e. dropping ECs, update blogs and visit friend's blogs). It's still work, you know. But I'm having fun since I also get to chat with my friend Windy and my dear cousin Lainy at the same time.

My day ends around 5 or 6 in the evening. After I eat dinner, I just want to go to sleep. How I wish my bed is that of the sleep number bed, though. It must be very comfortable to sleep at than the bed I have now which is just spread out on the floor.

So that's about it. I guess it's pretty obvious that I'm not much of an outgoing person now! Lol! I guess it's pretty much all bout the money! hehehe...

Procrastination striked... again!

Procrastination hit me once again. Yesterday, I never did something productive and just spent most of my time watching DVD. I got engrossed with the drama series - One Tree Hill. It's all about the complicated lives of high school students in Tree Hill. Well, just like all the other series that me and Michelle watched before, One Tree Hill also made us glued to the TV since we can't take our eyes off of it whenever we get started.

After I got home from church early today, I was supposed to go with my friend Lovella in a government agency to process an I.D. But since I have a lot of catching up to do (e.g. house and blog chores) I told her I can't meet with her today. Boohoo! Although my friend said that it was fine with her to go alone, I still felt guilty about it.

I don't know why but I really feel lazy lately. Maybe I need a little inspiration here. What do you think? Lol!

Lainy cheered me up a little bit. Seeing myself singing Feel Alright by Hemp Republic on her blog- Kuerdas, made me reminisce the great times I spent with the band. Singing on stage is what I really want to do. If only it can suffice all my financial necessities, I should've settled on that passion. I really miss singing.

I also yearn for my "real friends'" company. Me and my friend Czarina haven't talked lately. I don't know but I think sometimes silence is needed to make someone realize that they need to change for the better. Well, I think I should just mind my own business. It's her life anyway.

I hope I could get better off of this sluggishness! I should be because I'll be back to work tomorrow. Phew! So help me God...

Not Vacationing On Holy Week

Holy week is the time where a lot of people either go home and spend the time with their loved ones or travel in different places to have fun and take advantage of the summer holidays. During this time, all travel establishments are jump-packed with passengers all eager to go to their respective destinations.
During this time, accidents happen because of huge number of passengers travelling . That is why it would be better that each traveler make sure that they get travel insurance so that whatever happens, them and their family could benefit from accidents that might happen.
For me, I'd rather work during this time of the year because I don't want to experience hassle and inconvenience while travelling.

Lainy's Musing's Blogoversary Bash!!!

My dear cousin Lainy's banner about her 1st year blogoversary contest has been on my header for weeks now. I know it's not only me who's anticipating on this contest! A lot of us here in the blogosphere are really curious about it and have been waiting for March 15 to come!

Although she hasn't given me details about the contest, I know it's going to be something NEW and BIG! To those who didn't know yet, Lainy's contest has a lot of great prizes at stake! As what Windmill have said on his blog about "Stupendous sponsor response to Lainy's Musing's", stupendous is the word that best describes the contest itself. The winners are going to bag a lot of those prizes and this is one blog competition that you shouldn't miss!

To everyone in the blogosphere... The long wait is almost over! A few hours from now, Lainy is going to post the mechanics of her contest! Whatever your contest is about, my dear cousin, you have my full support!

Way to go Lainy! Happy one year blogoversary!!!

Raquel's Planned Travel

My friend Raquel announced that she and her husband is going to travel to Thailand on her birthday this May. Me and Michelle were quite happy for her. She's really lucky to marry a rich guy who can actually bring her to places she want to go. Her husband might someday bring her to other places like the United States or might also surprise her for an Argentina travel which she also dream of! Even though sometimes she rants about her marriage, I still think she's lucky to have married her husband.

I'm just happy for this friend of mine. I hope that she will soon get pregnant because she and her husband were trying so hard to have a baby soon!

Happy 62nd Birthday Nanay!!!

Ms. Nelly Olarte - that's my Nanay (mom)! Today she has turned 62 and it's still hard for me to believe that she's getting older.

I called her earlier to greet her a Happy Birthday and as always, Nanay sounded really enthusiastic. Hearing her upbeat voice and the crazy things that she did today always make me smile even laugh for a while. She told me that she had an appointment with her doctor this morning because she hasn't been feeling well lately. I felt a pang of guilt hearing her talk about being sick even though she make jokes out of it. As her only girl, I'm the one who's supposed to be taking care of her.

Am I just being stressed out from work? I think not. I miss my mom and I wish I'm with her today. I hope and pray that God will grant all her heart's desires and that we (me and my brothers) could be His instrument in bringing Nanay back to Him. I always dream of going to church together with my family some day.

I love you, Nay and may God give you many more birthdays to come!

Be Beautiful Inside And Out

To be beautiful inside and out is what everyone strive to achieve. Not only by possessing positive attitude but also manifesting great self esteem can basically make one on top of their game.

Stress and anxiety is always what most of us rant about at the end of the day. Each one has their own ways of getting rid of daily pressures. Some would watch movies with friends and loved ones. Others would do some forms of exercises or go to beauty professionals to get a relaxing facial massage. The latter is what I'd prefer to do most of the time. And of course, I'd rather go to trusted aestheticians who are well trained on their profession.

Caring for someone else's beauty needs proper training. Nowadays, learning can be achieved not only in classrooms but also through the internet or instructional videos.

Aesthetic VideoSource is one of those award winning DVD's for aestheticians. Their videos feature outstanding experts who share about different styles of facial masssage. They also have chemical peel training where aestheticians would learn the proper procedures of how to apply and remove chemical peels for the face. They also have a video where famous professional aestheticians are featured in a microdermabrasion video which teaches the effectiveness of microdermabrasion treatments.

To learn more about aesthetic beauty techniques and if you want to purchase the DVDs you may visit their website: http://www.videoshelf.com/

Schedule Change...

Today is my day off! I almost forgot about it yesterday because I was so exhausted when I got home from work. Just when I was about to setup my phone's alarm at 2am (since my schedule at work starts at 4am now), that's when I remembered about my new scheduled off! Honestly, I'd still prefer the weekend rest days because it is basically a normal off for everyone. Unfortunately, it would be hard for me to dispute or ask for a schedule change on this new account. They will only allow schedule change requests if I have valid reasons like school. I don't have any choice but to abide by whatever schedule this account gives me.

Anyways, since today's my off, I took advantage of it and slept more than 8 hours! When I woke up this morning, I setup the DVD player and did hip hop abs. I actually burned a lot of calories when doing the exercise! Congratulations to me! Lol!

Right after the exercise, I prepared our breakfast and watched the Filipino music channel - MYX which I haven't seen for a while. I was updated with new songs since MYX's ongoing program when I turned on the TV was MYX International Top 20. I was caught up with what I was watching that I almost forgot about the viand I left simmered on the stove. I came back to it and voila! It was overcooked! Lol! At least I didn't burn it! It's still edible! hahaha! Although I don't know what Michelle has to say about the viand yet since she wasn't home when I left the apartment!

Right now I'm at our office pantry doing my blogging chores. Good thing they provide agents with free internet here. We got rid of our ISP weeks ago because of poor service. I still don't know yet when we could have a new ISP setup in our apartment. I hope it would be soon!

Well, that's about it for today. I still haven't figured out what else I would be doing later after blogging. I just hope to have great day offs today and tomorrow!

Take care everyone!!!

How To Motivate My Brother?

My younger brother, Florante is going to re-take the Nursing Licensure Exam this July. I just hope he passes this time. His family relies on that and my Mom expects him to pass the re-take. I pity him because he puts too much pressure on himself. I can sense that he's a little anxious about the exam and he's now preparing for it by doing self review.

I always advise him is to always pray to God and ask His guidance and that he will be granted with the knowledge that he needed for the exams. I hope he gets a lot of encouragements from my mom and his wife so he gets the motivation that he needs as well.

Speaking of motivation, what about a gift for my dear brother? A Glashutte watch maybe? Hmmm.. That's pretty expensive. He might really like that if I give him one, though. Too bad can't afford that this year yet. I'll just think of something else to get him motivated! Lol!

Another One of those firsts at work...

Today was just another one of those firsts at work. Although I wasn't that nervous anymore, this is one of those first days that I get a lot of errors! Every time my call ends, that's the time that I would remember to have done something important on that particular call. I am so forgetful! Shame on me!

Today was also the first time that I met my new team. Some are friendly especially the men. My new supervisor looks okay and I hope she stays that way in the span of being under her supervision. Lol!

I am wanting to improve at work to at least get a few incentives. I hope I would be more mindful on my calls tomorrow and will eventually be one of the bests in this account. So help me God...

Grandparents' Hometown

Bicol Region is located at the southeastern part of Luzon, in the Philippines. It is where the famous Mayon Volcano is found and also all other beautiful tourist spots like the one in Donsol, Sorsogon where it was considered as the sanctuary of the Butandings or Whale Sharks. A lot of people actually go to Bicol to visit these tourist spots.

Bicol region is also where my grandparents grew up according to my mom. They migrated in Mindanao when grandma and grandpa got married since their hometown normally experience different natural calamities (e.g. volcanic erruption, typhoon, floods). A lot of people there lost not only their homes but also the lives of their loved ones. Steel buildings from large companies might only be the ones left standing after all the calamities that has passed the region. Life there is really difficult according to my Mom.

Even though I heard a lot of sad stories about Bicol, I still would love to visit one day. I have a friend who lives there and really says a lot of wonderful things about the place. She definitely got me enticed about going there. Once I'd be financially okay, my visit in that place would be my priority!

Rest In Peace Master Rapper

The Philippine Master of Rap, Francis Magalona 44, died of Leukemia at 12 noon yesterday. Francis M. was the one who gave birth to Pinoy RAP when his song "Mga Kababayan" was launched in 1990. He was an extraordinary artist because he's not only great as a musician but also as a graphic artist. He also engaged himself in photography. His artistry, be it in music or graphic designs even on the designs of the shirts he made showed his pride as a Filipino. Most of his works are showcased in his blogs entitled a Free Mind and FrancisM's Happy Battle where he also put into writing his battle against leukemia.

Personally, the news deeply saddened me. When I was a kid, me and my brothers actually sang some of his songs in unison. And I always remember my big brother, Alex, singing Francis' famous song Kaleidoscope World. He is a big loss to the music industry. He was a role model to everybody especially the youth.

I got a video below from youtube which is a tribute to Francis M.

May you rest in peace Master Rapper...

Detoxify

After 6 months of taking anti-TB drugs, I definitely need to detoxify not only the toxins from the medicines I took for months. I also need rejuvenation from stress caused by work and the environment. I also have to get rid of the toxins from the unhealthy food I intake in the past.

Colon cleanses for at least twice a year is actually one of the advises my doctor has given me. I haven't gone back to my doctor yet to ask what food supplement he would highly recommend.

I just feel the need of detoxifying lately. As you all can see, I have been feeling anxious and stressed out! I might as well have an appointment with my doctor this week!

Training Has Come To An End

It was our last day of training yesterday. It was bittersweet because the training experience with our lovely trainer Shellani was fun yet it has to end yesterday. We were given certificates for completion of the training and in turn, we gave Shellani a nice bag as an appreciation of her patience to us throughout the training. She was suprised with the gift and quite teary-eyed and even gave each of us a kiss on the cheek, except for the men, of course. Lol! They only got a pat on the back!

Our class agreed to have our lunch at Gerry's grill, a restaurant that serves yummy Filipino delicacies. Me and my colleagues will not be in the same team once we hit the operations. We were distributed to different teams so we spent a few hours together after lunch.

Next week is the start of doing my real job once again! Lol! I hope I could perform well in this new account. I hope I can remember everything Shellani taught during the training. Geez! Welcome back to the real call center world Ally! Goodluck!

Working With Raffy...

A week after I resigned in my previous call center company in Pampanga in January of last year, it only took me 1 week to get employed in the call center company here in Manila. I then started my training as a technical support representative and met a lot of friends during the training. One of my friends during that time was Raffy. A lot of us are convinced that he's gay but no one had the nerve to ask him about it because during the first week, when we introduced ourselves to the class, he already made it clear that he's not gay. Yet most of us doubt that, including me.

You might be wondering why we think that way about him. Well, aside from the graceful way he walked and talked (which is like that of the gay people), he seemed so neat and so vain on his physical appearance.

I didn't bother to ask him anymore about it because Raffy has been a good friend to me. It really doesn't matter to me anymore because I respect Raffy's decision of what he wants us to perceive about his identity. Besides, overall, Raffy has done nothing wrong towards us.

Raffy has given me the chance to sing on his uncle's birthday bash. It really meant so much to me because it has been a while since I had the opportunity to perform for a crowd. He also made our class experience a free stay at hotel. That hotel was actually one of the finest here in Manila and he basically reserved an exquisite suite for all of us! We spent the night enjoying ourselves with great foods and drinks and did a lot of chitchats to get to know each other! It was definitely a nice experience.

Raffy already left the company a few months back. He left to work at a hotel in Dubai. I wonder how he has been doing there. I actually received an email from him one time telling me about a job opening in their company. I haven't responded to his email yet because I really wasn't interested on working abroad.

Hmmm... Let me send him an email then to ask how he has been!

Secret Services Training

We had a different kind of training at work today. The activity was entitled "Secret Services Training". The head trainer of the company, Jett together with another smart trainer May, were the ones who headed the activity. They started it with acting as Secret Agents! It was quite funny. We also have to be part of the role playing of course! And guess what? My agent name was Agent Sandwich! Hahaha! Actually my colleagues thought of that name before I could think of an appropriate name for myself.

The whole activity was really fun! The trainers' enthusiasm were contagious and since Jett acted retarded sometimes, we couldn't help ourselves but laugh in amusement! Lol!

The training focused on knowing ourselves better for us to become successful agents and also for us to help on the success of our account as well. There was an activity we did that involved cards that has different values listed on them. We were asked to choose 3 values that we think fit our personality. It was a bit hard for us because there were a lot of values that we thought suit each of us. But then we have to follow the rule. We were then asked to trade one of the values to our peers if ever we're not contented with whatever we already picked.

Before the trading of cards, I already had these cards that have: happiness, creativity and family. But then I traded family for independence. I know it was odd and it surprised you too. It's just that I am not that attached to my family, although I love them. But I have always been independent even when I was a kid. And since these values have to be connected to work, I think I could be more focused on whatever I want to achieve if no one controls me or holds me back in reaching my aspirations. I need to be in control of myself to be successful. Creativity comes along since I need to discover a lot of things for me to achieve my goals. And while I work or whatever it is that I do in my life, I should always be grateful so that whatever the outcome will be, I am happy because I know I did my best!

I really love this kind of training because it motivates me to work harder and it reminds me that I have to aim high! I know I have been passive this year because I was quite intimidated with the people around me. The training put me back in the right track. I just hope I could maintain this kind of enthusiasm and I hope I would be able to improve myself in this call center industry.

Waiting in Vain for ISP Connection...

I haven't kept my blogs up to date lately because up until now Michelle and I haven't decided on what Internet Service Provider we should sign up for after we canceled our former ISP. Honestly, I'm just waiting for Michelle's decision. I really would want us to have an ISP connected in our apartment so I can update my blogs anytime I want.

Without Internet at home, I don't have a choice but spend more money on internet cafes. Phew! Aside from that, I have to endure the noise all around the internet cafe since a lot of teenagers play online games.

It wouldn't have been a problem if I still could access my blogs at work. Apparently, our company ITs setup a firewall on all the computers and it blocked my access to my blogs! I wonder if they're also equipped with KVM switches because there are times that I can access my website and then all of a sudden, I'd notice the block. Well, there's no doubt they have that too!

I think I have no choice but to wait. I hope I can buy my own portable computer this year so that I can just go ahead and decide about the ISP on my own.

I Love Fully Booked!!!

Before we watched the movie "The International" last Saturday, Michelle, her friend Sheila and I went to Bonifacio High Street at The Fort to check out some books in Fully Booked. It was my first time there and I was really impressed with the bookstore!

It is a five-story building and is equipped with almost everything you need! From books, to music, to films and Starbucks! The lounges are so cozy and stylish where you can just quietly relax and read. They also have a musical playground with Audiophiles where you can play some songs.

I love Fully Booked and will definitely go back to that haven!!!

The Heat Is On!

The heat is on this summer!

Honestly, I hate the ongoing hot temperature! When my work ends at 1pm, I'd rather stay a few hours at the office cafeteria so that I won't have to feel the scorching heat on my way home!

With the intense heat this time of the year, how I wish I could have one of those Vegas vacations where I could spend a luxurious summer get-away! Hahaha! Yeah right! I'm daydreaming again! Who wouldn't love to take a splurge into that kind of indulgence? If I only have the money, there's no doubt I would try that luxury!

Seriously, I really would love to spend sometime in a beach this summer! I just can't wait to escape from my stressful job for a day or two or make it three! I can't wait to feel the warm breeze and how I could marvel on the beauty of nature somewhere. Me and Michelle are planning for a trip but we still haven't figured out where and when we will be going. If we come up with a decision, I will keep you guys posted!

For now, please allow me to continue my daydream!
