Nimfa - An Amazing Friend

I seldom find real friends. In this world we live in, it's seldom that you meet people who truly cares about you and loves you the way you are. People who are always there not only during days of fun and enjoyment but also there for you even in the lowest point of your life. When I chance upon these precious friends, I feel so lucky. They are the best gifts that God has given me.

I have talked about my best friend Czarina a lot of times in this blog. Yes, she is one of those true friends I have. Today, I'd like to talk about a person who also played an important role in my life. Her name is Nimfa. She's beautiful inside and out. A great mom of 3 grown up kids, she's 42 years old and married.

I met Ate Nimfa when I was in college. She's friends with Lainy's family. I was amazed of how kind and cool she was. Her good character is one of a kind. She's thoughtful in a lot of ways. She's not at all perfect, but for me, she's one of the best people I've ever known.

Lainy, Nimfa and Me

Ate Nimfa was the one who helped me in various ways. She have been patient with me and she understood my rebellious attitude. She opened my eyes to the beauty of life. She's like a mom to me. She never hesitated in our friendship and loved me like a sister. She even insisted for me to live in her nice home which has a wireless alarm after I graduated in college. She believed in my talents. She was the one who brought me to God and taught me a lot of things. From make up to accessories, to dressing me up and she also taught me how to properly arrange my closet. She cared for me unconditionally, laughed and cried with me.

We are miles apart now. But I always keep in mind everything that she has taught me. Whenever I go home to our province, I make sure I spend time with her. She has just survived from a serious personal problem. Too bad I wasn't there for her physically. I am glad though that she's now back to her feet. Living a happy life again. I admire her more for her strength.

I miss you Ate Nimfa. I will not grow tired of thanking you for being a part of my life. I am so grateful that I have known someone like you. May God bless you more because you deserve it. I love you Te!

When You're Gone - Music Monday

I'm an Avril Lavigne fan. I have performed some of her songs on stage when I was a vocalist of an alternative band back in college. I like her because she makes her own songs and she really rocks!

My Music Monday features Avril's song that I have been practicing with my guitar these past few days. It's entitled "When You're Gone".

Enjoy!

Come join Music Monday and share your songs with us. One simple rule, leave ONLY the actual post link here. You can grab this code at LJL Please note these links are STRICTLY for Music Monday participants only. All others will be deleted without prejudice.

Constipation Attack!!!

Someone close to me once told me about her terrible, yet for me, very funny experience about her constipation. I don't want to say who she is to not further embarrass her. Lol!

She was on her way home from work with a colleague. It was around 8 in the morning just after they got out of the train, they decided to wait for the mall nearby to open and buy something. After a few minutes, the mall still hasn't opened when all of a sudden, her tummy churned and she was so sure that it's one of her constipation attacks! She was already perspiring and she knew she can't hold it anymore. Thank God there was a rest room near the guard house. She didn't care how she looked since it's pretty obvious why they were hurriedly looking for that rest room.

How this person described to me what happened made me laugh so hard! I am already aware how her constipation attacks make her uncomfortable. She told me it was the worst! I suggested that she read colon cleanser reviews so that she won't experience the same embarrassment again. Even if I was saying that, I was still laughing out loud!

Eye Problem Rant........

My eyes have been hurting a lot lately and I have been having headache almost everyday. My job as a call center agent doesn't only have to do with answering calls for our clients, but we also spend the whole day at work in front of the computer. Apart from that, dropping ECs for my two blogs, I believe, contribute to this eye problem. To sum it up, being in front of the PC make my eye condition worse.

I used to see people's faces clearly even if they are a few meters away from me. But now, my vision is so blurry, I even mistake a stranger to someone I know! Duh! I think I have no choice but to go to an ophthalmologist to have my eyes checked! I hate to even think about wearing eye glasses soon, but I really don't have a choice, do I? As to what I have seen from friends and cousins (Michelle and Lainy whom I teased as partially blind), wearing glasses is really a hassle.

Well, enough about my ranting. I'd still end up wearing those glasses anyways. Lol!

Have a great week everyone!!!

Are you on drugs???

"Ally, are you on drugs???". My friends jokingly asks me that question whenever I act funny or make some silly jokes with them. I think, it's already an expression here in the Philippines. Whenever someone makes a fool of themselves just for fun, that question just pop up from nowhere.

I have tried beer but didn't like how it tastes. Just one glass make my face become reddish and I feel uncomfortable already so I don't want anyone to hand me another glass of it. I used to smoke but already quit since I know the danger if I continue doing it. More importantly, never have I tried dangerous drugs because I don't want to end up in a drug rehab.

You see, I am a good girl. So those people who gets to hear that question being asked to me... Come on! It's just a joke!!! Don't always believe on what you here folks! I don't even look like a drug addict, do I? LOL!

My Gitara!!!

Woohoo!!! I finally bought my own guitar!!!

Czarina and I went to Quiapo yesterday because we were told that it’s the place where we can buy good quality guitars in a cheaper price. It was raining when we got there but we didn’t mind because we were seriously canvassing guitars in the music stores. We stopped and checked out the guitars, talked with series of salesmen who are definitely got enchanted with my best friend’s charm. And just so everyone knows, I got the guitar in a cheaper price because of my best friend! Lol!

Who wouldn't get enchanted? Take a look at that beauty!!!

In the end, even before we got all wet and exhausted on the search, we finally found it! My gitara!!!

Errr...Val wants to play it too. Lol!
After the guitar search, we went to SM Manila to buy Czarina's school necessities. She's back to school by the way and I'm so happy for her. It's time for her to go get that diploma she so deserve!!! Go gat! You can do it! Lol!

We both got hungry after shopping so for our second meal, we went to Karate Kid which is one of our favorite restaurants.

I'm just so happy I have this guitar. I might play songs for you sometime soon! Time for me to practice!

Out of the way Val! Time to work! Lol!

Not a rant post.......

Being a call center agent is not at all easy. Taking calls everyday and dealing with different types of customers is very stressful. Yet, being in the call center industry for more than 3 years now make me realize how this job have helped me develop my skills.

It helped me enhance my English skills. Lol! Since our clients are Americans, that's the number one skill that needed enhancement! I have learned how to speak the language in a conversational manner. I even overcome my public speaking fear since I have become confident with the manner of my fluency with the language. It also helped me develop my interpersonal skills since not only will deal with my customers over the phone, I was able to gain more friends at work.

Regrets for this job? I don't think I have! I enjoy the good pay and of course, I enjoy the job and love it!

Hah! Not a rant post at all, isn't it??? Lol!

Burnt Out

Burnt out - I think that's the best excuse I can give for not updating my blog recently. A lot has been going on at work and I honestly got tired of blogging. I apologize.

Work has been stressful lately. Me and my team mates are dealing with another drastic change. Change that none of us expected. Our supervisor has to be on leave for a long time and we were assigned to different supervisors. So here we are, we have no choice but to adopt to the sudden change. Nothing is constant anyways so we have to deal with it.

And my way of coping up with stress is not updating my blog, sleep a lot, eat and watch stupid movies! What a pity! Lol!

Moving forward... Thanks to all of you who took time to comment on my post. I'll try my best to get myself back to the blogosphere!

Take care everyone!!!

Not Perfect Timing...........

I enjoy referring friends to apply in the company I am working for since I get referral bonuses whenever one of them gets hired. Aside from helping them to land a job, I get to enjoy extra incentives. Isn't it great?

Just recently, I came across an old friend in the train when I was on my way to see my best friend Czarina. That was about 2 weeks ago. She was a nursing graduate but she told me she still doesn't have a job yet. We exchanged numbers and a few conversations and she liked the idea of me referring her to apply as a call center agent.

Just earlier, I phoned her and asked if she's already interviewed by our recruitment since I've given them her name. I just learned from her that she was confined in a hospital. Too bad she doesn't have any insurance plan like Medicare supplement which should have taken care of her hospital bills. Now I have to ask our company's recruitment to have her initial interview rescheduled. She apologized and said that she's really interested to apply for the job. The timing wasn't just perfect.

I hope for her betterment though. We were just thankful that it wasn't the dreaded Ah1n1 virus that she got confined for.

Get well soon Nancy!

Bad Weather and The Flu...

It has been raining heavy lately and most of the time I come home from work dripping wet! The rain is like teasing everybody because at first you'd thought that it has stopped and then it pours hard every now and then. You really should be prepared with an umbrella everytime you go out of the house!

Just recently, all of us employees at work were given free shots of flu vaccine since the Influenza A (H1n1) has been confirmed as evident in the Philippines since last month. I'm glad that our company has taken this step and that it saved us from spending money for the vaccine. I still get paranoid though if one of my colleagues at work keeps sneezing or has a flu. As what I've heard in the news, the famous influenza has a possibility to cause an outbreak and might be harder to cure.

The bad weather here in the Philippines lately adds up to the possibility of one getting the flu.

Here are some preventive steps to fight the flu:

1. Get a flu vaccine.

2. As much as possible, take the necessary vitamins to strengthen the immune system.

3. Wash hands often with soap and water or bring along with you alcohol and hand sanitizers.

4. Avoid close contact with sick people. Don't go to crowded places as much as possible.

5. More importantly, drink plenty of water.

Prevention is still better than cure! God bless everyone!!!

I promise! I promise!

Promises are made to be broken. I'm not talking about personal romance drama. I'm referring to the promises I made to myself. Lol! Well, I'm actually talking about my promise to jog in on my rest days so I can burn some calories and hoping for my belly to flatten soon! My hopes has somehow vanished since I never kept that promise! A lot of rest days hast passed but never have I gone jogging on the streets of Makati. Duh! I might as well get myself one of those best fat burners in the market so I can get the body figure I so wanted to achieve soon!

Anyways, as usual, I'd set my alarm at 4am so I could at least try waking up early tomorrow. I'll try to keep that promise. I'm hoping I can!

Figure Dilemma

Michelle, Lowela and I have been ranting about our bulging bellies! Lol! Personally, I have been planning to exercise or jog on my rest days. Evidently, the plan hasn't taken place up to now. I still have flabs on my tummy which annoys me sometimes. My belly isn't really that bulging but it's still annoying. I can't wear my fitted shirts and blouses because people might get disturbed with my figure!

I get lazy to wake up early during my rest days. Partly because I don't have a company whenever I plan to jog. Too bad my best friend lives faraway from our place. It would have been nice if I get to jog with Czarina.

Buying a treadmill crosses my mind sometimes. However, there will be not enough space for it to fit in our apartment. I am not even ready to spend money for me to enroll in a gym. Phew! What a dilemma!
