I want a nice house....

The last time I spoke with my Mom over the phone was a few weeks ago. She was in a hurry to get off the phone because she has to do some errands. She reminded me of the lot she bought for me. She said that I have to send some money or save some so I can have a house built on the empty lot. I told her I have some other things in mind and I haven't even decided yet if I'd l go back in the province and stay there for good. If I make up my mind, decide to go back home, I would want to build a nice house with porcelain tile and I want it big! Lol!

Well, it takes a lot of money to acquire a nice house. I think I have to look for a high-paying job then! Moving to a different company won't be a bad idea, is it? Nah! I'll just give it a shot sometime soon.

I was browsing my archives and checked out my old posts when I realized that my first post for this blog was dated August 21 of last year. Shame on me! How dare me forget my blog's First Anniversary??? Tsk! Tsk! Okay, I'll stop humiliating myself! Lol! It's better late than never greeting my blog a
I can't believe I've gotten this far! With this blog, I have learned a lot of things through different blogs that I come across with. I accumulated extra income through paid posts. Thank God I learned to blog!

I was able to express myself in blogging and met great friends. Thanks to you guys who don't get bored with my posts even if I talk so much nonsense! Thanks for your acceptance.

I wouldn't have learned blogging if not for my cousin Lainy who have always been there in this blogging career. Thank you so much dear cousin! I owe you big time!

There were times that I thought about giving up this blog. Thank God there was Windy who, aside from Lainy, encouraged me to move on with this passion. Thank you for believing in me. I will always be your fan, Windy! Thank you for the inspiring advises and for the friendship!

I wish to continue honing this passion. I know I have a lot to learn to succeed in blogging. I wish I'd still be here until next year and the years to come!

I hope you guys won't get tired of me and my blog! Take care y'all!!!

Saturday Saved-The Best For Last #1

The Zip Line Experience!!!

My life seems to get boring lately. All I did this past few months is work and sleep and do movie marathons. It seemed like I've been trapped in this polluted city.

I miss breathing the fresh, clean air in the province. I miss doing outdoor adventures with friends back home.

It was a year ago when I went home to recuperate from tuberculosis. A week after feeling sick and bed ridden at home, me and my friend Nimfa along with her sister and friends decided to do an outdoor adventure in Camp Sabros which is located in Kapatagan - the Summer Capital of Digos City. It is where the longest Zip line in the country was built.

It was a nerve racking experience! Imagine? I was able to zip my way from one mountain to another! The Zip line was 380 meters long. And while you're zipping your way to the other mountain, it felt like flying and you're actually 180 ft high across the forest right below.

I paired with my cousin Jayson when I decided to zip! And to show you guys how it was, here's the video of our zip line experience!

Remebering Ninoy Aquino

Candle of My Life
by the late Sen. Benigno 'Ninoy' Aquino

I am burning the candle of my life
in the dark no one to benefit
from its light

The candle slowly melts away
soon it's wick will be burned out,
and the light is gone!

If someone will only gather
the melted wax, reshape it
give it a new wick
for another fleeting moment
my candle can once again
light the dark
be of service one more time
and then

Good-bye

This is the poem written by Sen. Ninoy Aquino in his cell eight years before his untimely death. It showcased his love for his country, his unprecedented patriotism.
Today is his 26th death anniversary. His assassination in the International Airport ignited the nation to be as one and fight for democracy from the Marcos tyranny.

Former President Cory Aquino's funeral earlier this month led us Filipinos to remember Ninoy's heroism.

Ninoy Aquino was a true hero and never should he be forgotten.

Movie Review: G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra

I and my cousin Willie watched G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra today at the mall. I have read and heard a lot of great things about the movie so I decided to watch it with Willie.

I have vivid memories of G.I. Joe toys that I used to play with my brothers when we were kids. I don't really like playing dolls on my early years. My dolls are just placed by my mom in the display cabinets. They got ruined when my younger brother decided to get them out of the cabinet and dismantle them. He was a curious kid and usually do it on all toys especially my dolls. I really didn't mind him doing it on the dolls. My mom was the one who got mad when she saw the damage and my brother ended up getting spanked.

Anyways, back to G.I. Joe. The movie was great! It's about bad people who created destructive weapons to take control over the world. G.I. Joes are the ones who can stop them since they have futuristic machines and weaponry that can match the enemies' equipments. They also got amazing auto and auto accessories, even cool accelerator suits. Very futuristic setup, indeed!

Channing Tatum's portrayal of Duke - the no. 1 Joe was superb! The last movie I remember him doing was Step Up 2 where he did a lot of crazy dance moves. As one of the G.I. Joes, he's got great action stunts too! Duke was a U.S. Army who, together with his friend Ripcord (Marlon Wayans) was tasked to deliver the warheads - a nanotechnology-based weapon that can destroy a whole city and was created by James McCullen (Christopher Eccleston). They were ambushed by the Baroness Ana Lewis (Sienna Miller) who happened to be Duke's ex-fiance. They were rescued by the G.I. Joes. Since Ana was involved in the ambush, Duke decided to become a G.I. Joe.

Guess who won in the end??? Well, apparently the movie hasn't ended yet. I am looking forward for more action and exciting futuristic setup in the sequel.

Recognition Event

I performed at our 2nd Quarter Recognition Event at work last night. Guess what? The event was done in the call floor where most agents are busy taking calls. I bet most customers got somehow annoyed of the fuss going on in the background since we can't control our enthusiasm for the agents who get recognized and even got more excited of the performances.

It was my off last night so I wasn't one of those agents who had difficulty. I think most of them could not focus on their calls because of the ongoing event happening on the floor. I got to enjoy the performances especially the dance number prepared by the gay supervisors on the floor. They danced to the tune of "Nobody" by the famous Korean group The Wonder Girls. It was really fun and we couldn't contain our giggles and laughter.

Anyways, when it was my turn to perform, I realized that I forgot to replace my guitar's battery for the pick up. It didn't work when I plugged it in the speakers. I ended up using the other performer's guitar! Lol! I think I still did well since I got applauded after the first song I sang which was "The First Cut Is The Deepest" by Sheryl Crow. After the song, I was asked to sing one more song, so I played "Sway" by Bic Runga. There was an acoustic band who also played and I got the chance to jam with them.

Agents who did well at work for the past 3 months got recognized. I was just sitting there on a corner during the awarding when all of a sudden I heard my name announced not as the outstanding agent but as one of those agents who had perfect attendance for the quarter. Lol! What an achievement Ally! Way to go!!! I got myself a piece of paper, a certificate. It would've have been better if there's an incentive attached to it, hehehe. Well, at least I got recognized for my diligence!
Congratulations to all the awardees!!!

Not enough money for a pet...

One of the tenants here in the apartment has a pet pug which is a small breed of dog with a wrinkly small face. Each time the woman comes out of the room, her pug walks with her in the stairway. His tongue is out and he's wagging his tail as he run down the stairs. He's so cute his master let's him wear an outfit. And I can't help but envy the lady who owns the dog. Sometimes I see the lady carry a bag of pet supplements when she gets home. I am aware that owning a pet gets expensive sometimes.

I can't afford to get myself a dog because I know for a fact that I can't take good care of it. Besides our place is not conducive for pets since we don't have enough space in the room where it can play. And I don't have that much to spend for a dog. Not enough money yet.

Music Monday - Tell Me

Tell Me is one of the songs popularized by Joey Albert. It's actually one of my favorite OPM (Original Pilipino Music) hits. It was produced in 1982 and was revived by The Side A band.

This song really touches my heart whenever I hear it.

Starting Anew At Work...

Each of us in the team at work had a meeting with our new supervisor, Kitty, today. Expectations were set for the team and it looked like Kitty was completely aware of what happened between the team and our previous supervisor.

Kitty just got promoted for the position. We are not expecting too much from her and since all of us are starting anew once again, I hope my colleagues won't make comparisons between the old and the new supervisors.

Anyway, Julie and I were supposed to get ourselves enrolled in a gym near the office. As employees of the company, we were given the privilege of getting 50% off from the enrollment and monthly payment just to get physically fit. I was looking forward to it very much when all of a sudden my good friend changed her mind. Phew! Maybe I should take diet pills instead since I can't workout without a friend with me. Duh! Another one of my lamest excuses! Lol!

Have A Rockin' Sunday!!!

It's the last day of the rest of the week! It was a busy day for me every Sunday since I'm one of those unfortunates who work on weekends! Lol! But I really don't mind. As long as I was able to go church after work and thank God for all his blessings in my life, that definitely completes my week!

Tomorrow is a new day, as the cliche goes! I hope things will get better at work and that I will get more productive in the days to come!

For tonight, I'm getting ready to watch Michaels Jackson's movie - The Moonwalker! I've seen this when I was a kid and have been a fan of MJ since then.

sunday Pictures, Images and Photos

Let's have a rockin' Sunday!!! Err... or what's left of it! God bless us all!!!

Not anymore, boss!

Me and my colleagues had a meeting with the upper management at work today. That meeting made my day a bit stressful because it has to do with my supervisor. She made one of our colleagues cry earlier and she left the latter with no choice but to have the issue raised to the upper management.

The team have issues with her attitude even before. And it's about time that she has to stop all the wrongdoings! We're done with her already and the good thing was, the issue about her misdemeanor was addressed and that we won't be under her supervision anymore. Thank goodness!

She won't get fired but at least she will not handle our team anymore. It's not our intention to get her fired anyway. We just wanted to do our jobs in a good working atmosphere. I just hope she changes for the better though. And I hope the one who will take her place is far better than her.

No more humiliation, boss! Not anymore!

Good luck to our team!

Baby LaJon

I went to Julie's house last week. Julie is one of my closest friend at work. She has been telling me a lot about her cuddly baby LaJon and even showed me some of his pictures. I have been wanting to meet the cuddly 2-year-old baby and I was really excited when we were on our way to the house. I bought spaghetti for LaJon since according to his mom, he loves to eat (Err... it's pretty obvious in the picture, ain't it? Lol!)

Isn't he adorable??? I bet he'll look good in a tuxedo which I'm going to buy for him on his next birthday! He's quite a charm! I just can't wait to squeeze this baby repeatedly when I come to visit again.

Got Introduced to First Vita Plus

Yesterday after my work was done, a gay colleague who's also a good friend asked me out. He didn't tell me where our destination was. Although I already have a hint about where we were going. And I was right when we reached the building! He brought me in a place of a business opportunity. It's a networking business which I tried during my college days but didn't succeed because I didn't work as hard. Networking during that time with the company I signed up for was not really stable as well and the products were very expensive.

First Vita plus was introduced to me yesterday. It's a juice drink that has five vegetable components namely:

1. Moringa Oleifera (Moringa Leaves)

Scientific research has proven that these humble leaves are in fact a powerhouse of nutritional value. It can rebuild weak bones, enrich anemic blood and nourish breastfed babies. Ounce per ounce, it has the calcium of four glasses of milk, the vitamin C of seven oranges and the potassium of three bananas.

2. Capsicum Frutescens (Cilli Leaves)

The leaves are used as vegetable; an excellent source of calcium and iron, a good source of phosphorus and vitamins A and B.

It is an important gastrointestinal deoxidant and also serves as a stimulant, digestive, rubefacient, stomachic, sialagogue, alterative, antispasmodic, febrifugue and depurative.

3. Corchorus Olitorius (Saluyot)

Reported to be demulcent, deobstruent, diuretic, lactagogue, purgative and tonic, it may also be a remedy for aches and pains, dysentery, enteritis, fever and pectoral pains.

4. Amaranthus Spinosus (Uray)

It is a good expectorant and an effective astringent especially in stopping liquid bowels. Locally, it has been reported that a decoction of the root relieve one’s breathing from acute bronchitis.

5. Ipomoea Batatas (Talbos ng Kamote)

Its roots are high in calories and vitamin A and the leafy tops are eaten as vegetables. The tops, especially purplish ones are used for diabetes and the crushed leaves are applied to boils and acne.

All five vegetable components have different health benefits. I like the product since it is herbal and it is a product made here in the Philippines. More importantly, it's cheaper and I'm pretty sure that a lot of people would be interested to have a taste of this drink. I am quite interested on buying the product and see for myself how it works for my health. The business opportunity will follow.

Suspicious Tenants

I bet all of you know that me and my cousin Michelle live in the same apartment here in Makati. Michelle has been living here for more than 2 years now and I, over a year. Just 2 weeks ago we went to the Barangay Hall to file a complain about our water bill. We have been paying a big sum of money each month for our water consumption which we believe is a hoax. The woman accountant in the building doesn't even provide transparency as to how she come up with the bill. We have been complaining to her about it yet she still hasn't done anything to fix the ongoing problem.

So off we went and spoke to one of the officers in the barangay hall. We found out that we were not only the tenants in the building that have filed a complaint. Most of the tenants in the building were also suspicious of the water bill they get. The officer said he already brought the complains to the accountant's attention. Hopefully on our next bill, she will become transparent. Or else, they will lose good tenants.

We don't want to move because long distance moving is a real hassle. Besides, the building is near my work place and I pretty much like it here. I just hope we don't end up moving to a different apartment.

Looking Foward to Good Weather

The rain has stopped pouring today. I was so pleased when I went out of the office after work. Finally the sun has shone in Metro Manila so I was ready to open up my umbrella just so I won't feel the sun's heat on my skin. When I opened it up, I wasn't prepared about what happened next. My umbrella flipped backwards because of a sudden blow of very strong wind! My hair was all over my face and I felt like the wind is also pushing me further. Phew! Quite an embarrassing situation! I'm thankful I don't wear skirts for work or else I'd be trapped in a more embarrassing moment! Lol!

Anyways, another typhoon called "Kiko" hit our country. The Northern part of Luzon still experience rains accompanied with gusty winds. Because of the rainy days, some parts of the Philippines experience flooding and landslides which caused death to some countrymen.

I hope "Kiko" leaves Philippines the soonest. It has caused a lot of damages already.

I am looking forward to good weather soon!

Imelda and her shoes...

Imelda Marcos has 2,700 pair of shoes! Can you believe that? She has acquired all those shoes and might have just worn some of them once or twice. Too bad, all of these womens shoes were left behind in the Malacanang Palace. I wonder how much money from the taxpayers were spent for these grandiose fetish the former first lady had. I also wonder how Imelda felt when she looks at those shoes which are products of her corruption? Nah! Enough about Imelda and her shoes!

So why do I all of a sudden talk about Imelda's shoes? Lol! Well, I'm planning to buy a pair or two for my self. I just hope my incentives at work will be included in my payout so I could buy the shoes I so wanted.

UP

The movie UP is about a 78-year-old balloon salesman who fulfilled his dream of having an adventure in his life by tying thousands of balloons to his house and flying up, up and away! Later on he discovers that on board with him is the cute-cuddly boy Russell who stowed away. He had no choice but to take the kid with him in the adventure of their lives.

This movie is very entertaining. I had fun watching it!

Talking about Work and Health

My job as a call center agent include sitting in front of my PC and talk to the customers on most part of my shift. You might think it's a pretty easy job but it's not. It may look easy since we sit all day but the talking drain us out especially when we get high volume of calls in a day. Dealing with different kinds of customers sometimes gets even more stressful especially when we come across irate customers. The job is really tough!

And since we sit all day, most of us end up getting bulging tummies. It is an ongoing dilemma for me. I gained weight since I work in this industry for more than 3 years already. A lot of women at work resort to best diet pills available since most of us don't do routine exercise. I, personally don't exercise because I'm stubborn. Lol! And I don't blame it on my job, honestly. I know I have to balance everything to have a healthy life.

Sickly me...

Respiratory Tract Infection - this is what hit me and had me stay in bed for a day. It was accompanied with high fever so I was advised to rest for 2 days after consultation to a physician on Friday after work. I was afraid my Tuberculosis hit me back after last year's agonizing treatment. Thank God it's not TB. Well, I'm hoping it's not. I was supposed to go back to the doctor yesterday but I chose to rest after my tiring day at the office.

Geez! My lungs are too weak. Although I'm feeling much better now. I am still under treatment and hopefully will get well soon. I apologize for not being able to update my blog but I'm still here. Alive and kicking! Lol! I need to go back to the doctor for follow up consultation today. That is if the rain stops from pouring hard. The weather make me want to just stay in bed and watch former President Cory Aquino's burial which is scheduled today. The weather is also grieving with us Filipinos for the loss of our most respected President.

It's time for my medicine... Duh! I just hate getting sick!

exercise regimen

I started my exercise regimen last week. That exercise was jogging alone on the sidewalks of Makati. I was able to jog last week on a Wednesday morning. The following day, I postponed the regimen since my whole body ached because it has been a while that I've done any rigid exercises.

Unfortunately, the regimen wasn't done this week since I turned out to be sickly again. I guess I will have to buy the best weight loss pills after I get well and still look fat. Lol! I have been eating a lot specially now that I'm sick so that I will get better the soonest possible. Thank God I'm already feeling better today. Who knows? I might go back to that exercise regimen?
