Welcome Year 2010!!!

Good Morning!!! Let me start this day by saying

Happy New Year to everyone!!!

It's the first day of 2010. I have spent my New Year's Eve with my best friend, Czarina. It's our first time to spend it here in Manila. Both of us hoped we were with our loved ones in the province. We miss our family. It's really different when spending this special occasion with loved ones, actually.

Anyway, Czarina made delicious home cooked meals - bulalo and chicken caldereta. We went to the mall in the afternoon to watch a movie, unfortunately, the cinemas closed early because of the Holiday.

Waited in vain...

We didn't think about it and we got disappointed when we left. Before the mall closed, Czarina was able to buy a laptop bag for me. It's her year-end gift for me! I love it!

All smiles for my new bag!!! :D
We went home and ate and waited for midnight to strike. We played along with her dogs.

Drank a little of the white wine we bought while staring at the fireworks display on the rooftop. Good thing her room is at the top of the 3-storey building. We got to enjoy the the beautiful fireworks display last night. It was deafening but was beautiful outside. Even though I'm a bit sick, I didn't mind the smell of the firecrackers.

You can view how amazing the fireworks look on my other blog here.

May God bless our 2010!!!

He Survived The Car Accident

Jon, my cousin Michelle's fiance, met a car accident few months ago. He was on his way to fetching Michelle at work at around 4 in the morning. His friend was with him in the car. They came from a get-together with some friends the previous night.

While he was driving on the way to Michelle's office, he just realized that there was a speeding car on his side. He somehow panicked and pulled the stirring wheel to the side. His car bumped to an island. Good thing the card didn't turn upside down and there were no other car behind them. The car's bumper and lights on the front were wrecked. Jon and his friend wasn't badly hurt. They just got some little scratches but the experience was traumatic. His car doesn't have an auto insurance but his friend who owns a auto shop got his car fixed for free.

We were glad that he and his friend were able to survive that accident.

Sick Again...

I'm sick again. I was not feeling well since yesterday and thought I just needed to get enough sleep last night which I did. I slept early and actually had more than 8 hours of sleep but I already got fever when I woke up. The fever is incorporated with hard cough and flu. Sigh.

I was supposed to go to work today on my rest day since they offered over time pay. Too bad I wasn't able to make it. I don't want to go to the doctor anymore. I lost my health card and I don't want to go through the hassle of waiting in line to get an appointment with a doctor. Should I get a whole life insurance now? Lol! I'm going to get one though when I'm ready.

I'm supposed to enjoy my rest day but I'm sick. Hopefully I'm not gonna be stuck in my room this New Year's Eve. I better start self medicating. Sigh.

The Shoes Story...

Tomorrow is going to be our Year-End Thanksgiving at Church. I have bought a simple purple dress but haven't had a pair of shoes to match it yet. So off I went to buy at one of the Ayala malls here in Makati.

I started checking out the shoes on each rack in Land Mark. When I said "each rack" I wasn't exaggerating. I really did go through the isles of the shoe racks in that mall! Lol! But to my dismay, there's not a pair that matches the shoes I have in mind.

I continued my search on the next mall - the Glorrietta Mall. After entering and exiting different shoe shops in that mall, I came out of it still without a pair of shoes in hand.

Until finally I went to Shoe Mart (SM Mall) and there I found the perfect pair of shoes for my dress (err... that's after I also checked almost all of the shoe racks in that part of the mall, Whew!).

Gosh! The search was really exhausting! Hahaha! I really don't like shopping for a pair of shoes for dresses, honestly. But I have no choice! I have to get a pair of shoes for tomorrow! Thank God I found one! I almost gave up,actually.

Here's the pretty pair that I bought. I love it!
I also found a cool pair of rugged sneakers! Love it too!
Love them both!
:D Take care everyone!!! Happy holidays!!!

Protect Your Identity And Money

In this time of the year, most of us are busy shopping for loved ones. It's Christmas time! Time for giving and receiving gifts. It seems like everyone is happy spending what they have worked hard for the whole year.

This could also be time for bad people to take advantage of someone else's money. These fraudsters may also do their shopping spree using someone else's credit card. Who knows, they may have gotten your credit card info online or have made duplicate of the your card. That is very scary, isn't it? Identity theft is so rampant these days. That's the reason why we should always protect ourselves from these perpetrators. Getting identity theft protection could help us not become victims of these illegal acts. It would always help if we become vigilant to protect our identity and our money.

She Married The Eiffel Tower!!!

I'm back! After 4 days of not being online, I've finally taken my break! Phew! What a relief!

I spent most of my day yesterday in being a potato couch! hahaha! I was browsing through the channels on TV and finally settled to watching the Tyra Banks show. I got curious with her guest yesterday - the woman who married the Eiffel Tower! Yes! The beautiful Eiffel Tower in Paris! Interesting, isn't it?

Erika La Tour Eiffel is a 36-year-old ex-US Army soldier who claims to be an "objectum sexual" - a person who fall in love with inanimate objects. According to her, she used to be in love with her bow which made her become a world champion in archery. She also had a "relationship" with a bridge when she was young and got all broken hearted when the bridge collapsed to the river below it. While she was relaying the story of her "relationship" with the bridge, she was even teary eyed and very emotional. She said the pain and grieving is the same as loosing a person you really love.

She tried being with a man and a woman just to try to fit in to the mainstream but she said it wasn't the same as how she intimately feel towards the objects she love.

Here's part of the interview on Tyra's show.

What do you think about this post? I can't say much though. :D

Earning A Degree In An Easy Way

Earning a degree is very important. Even when were kids, we were told to get educated to have a better life. If you don't have a degree, you won't land in a better job or get a better position at work. That is how important education is to us, Filipinos.

But what if you already have a family and a job at the same time and you still need to earn a degree? That is so much obligation isn't it? I actually know a few people at work who are in this situation. I can see that it is very difficult for them. Their sleeping hours is very limited, so they take advantage of power naps which is not healthy.

They should have known that they can earn a degree without the hassle of driving to school, they can even get enough sleep and spend time with their family while studying. I am talking about online degree wherein you can study whenever and wherever you want. You can do it during your lunch break at work even when at home with your family as long as there's internet connection. You can also study during coffee breaks. That's how convenient online university is.The kind of degree you want could be available in Western Governors University where you can also earn online teaching degree if you're an aspiring teacher.

Online university can help you save money. You won't have to spend for gas to go school, no need to pay for books since all information you need is online, and you won't have to pay for a babysitter if you have a child since you can study at home.

If you're one of those people who's thinking about earning a degree in a convenient and cost-effective way, try getting the education online through Western Governors University. It's an award-winning university online that will help you earn the degree you so desired!

Busy Me

This week is going to be another busy week for me. Geez! What's up with December? It felt like I have a lot of things to accomplish during this time of the year? Sigh.

Tomorrow I'll be out of town to visit friends in Pampanga. I haven't seen them for months and I'm excited to get reunited with them tomorrow.

Monday will be our company's Christmas Party. I will be attending for the first time with the hopes of winning some giveaways that the company prepared for us. We will find the exit signs as soon as we are done eating, I guess. Lol! We won't stay long since we still have to go to work after the party.

Tuesday will be our team at work's Christmas Party which involves exchange of gifts. I haven't bought something for my monita yet. Sigh. Another thing I missed to do on my rest day.

All these days include 11 hours of shift at work. That means I won't have enough sleep again. I just hope I won't get sick. Geez! I'm tired of being busy! :D

Was Gone For A Makeover! :)

I was too busy these past few days. I haven't gone online for 2 days, I apologize I haven't returned your drops. I was gone for a makeover, actually, that's why. Lol!

My supposed to be Cyber Monday turned out to be my hair day. Me and my colleague, Julie, went to a Salon at the mall and had our hair done after our shift at work. I had my facial done afterwards. I was exhausted that day but quite pleased because I feel pretty again. Lol!

Here are some of the photos:

That's pretty Julie and yours truly

My hair normally doesn't look like this when I wake up..:)

Missing a Friend...

A friend of mine at work has already left the company. We were saddened by his immediate resignation. He's one of the nicest people at work and now he has left. Their family business needed him so he had no choice but to leave the call center job behind. Their business specialize on selling medical equipments in hospitals here in Manila. I'm not sure though if the equipments they sell is as improved and as reliable as the products at The Claflin Company.

His job there was not as easy as taking calls according to him. He misses the latter though. He said if he were to choose, he would have stayed as a call center agent. Poor friend. I hope he'd be happy with his new job though.

Whatta Day!!!

I had a crazy day yesterday with my best friend Czarina and Lowela. We went out to watch New Moon finally yesterday. Taylor Lautner's bod is sooooo HOT!!!! Lol! The movie isn't that exciting, just like how it went on the book. Jacob's transformation and "the pack" was what I looked forward to in the movie. :D

After the movie, we decided to stroll in the mall. We we're laughing along and were just crazy and took some photos of ourselves. We didn't care about the people around us. Here are some of the photos:

Pretty girls, eh?

I got overwhelmed with the bear tree! Lol!

I wanna take this one home...

This was outside Glorrieta

Walking...

Haha!

The Peninsula Models! Lol!

What a day that was!

Nostalgic - Missing Home...

I called my Mom yesterday. I was quite disappointed with the call because she seemed like she didn't want to be on the phone for a while. She's always like that. She's always in a hurry. She and my older brother, Alex, have a lot of things to do according to her. "Yeah right, Nay, we haven't talked for like a month because you keep on pressuring me on things that I can't accomplish for you yet". Of course I didn't tell her that. I just said, "Ok, take care". I haven't told her that I miss her very much. Sigh.

Why do I always get this guilt feeling of not being with her especially now that she's getting older? I'm supposed to be there with her since I'm the only daughter. I'm supposed to take care of her. I was thinking about asking her to live here with me in Manila but I know she wouldn't agree. She'll get bored here for sure.

My younger brother, Boyet told me that he's doing the best he can to find a job. Well I hope he soon will land on one. He's already got a family of his own and he's got tired of my Mom's nagging about his being jobless. I bet it's not only my Mom who nags about that. Poor bro! I have already asked him to go here in Manila so I can help him but I think he's not ready to be miles away from his family.

How come life gets complicated when we get older? Life is never easy, is it? Sigh. I just miss home, that's all.

Facial Treatments Hurt...:(

The facial treatments that I have been undergoing involves pricking which is too painful most of the time. To get rid of acne and for the blackheads and whiteheads to be removed, unfortunately I have to go through that. It also takes a lot of time to be at the clinic since the process of the facial takes more than an hour. Sometimes it gets tiring already. I might as well get myself the best acne treatments so I won't have to experience the pain of pricking and I won't have to waste time and money just to look good.
