Happy Father's Day, Tatay...

Dear Tatay,

I'm sorry if I haven't been a good daughter to you. I wish I have given us a chance to talk. The Father-daughter talk that I always dream about. There's a lot of things I don't know about you, Tay. If I can only turn back the hands of time. I wish you were still alive so I can show you that I have grown up and I am not rebellious anymore, Tatay. I wish you were here so I can show you that I'm a daughter that you can be proud of.

I love you, Tatay... I wish I said that often when you were alive.

Happy Father's Day...

Determined To Buy A Camera...

I am almost unproductive on my 2 succeeding rest days. I kept telling myself to render overtime at work yet I ended up sleeping my butt off to la-la-land! LOL! I just got tired, you know. Making money is really hard. I think I have to push myself a little bit. I still have until today to motivate myself to render overtime. I hope I won't be stubborn. I have set a goal of saving to buy something that I really want. I want to buy myself a camera, actually. It's a bit expensive but I'm hoping to be able to buy it this year. I really have to work harder to achieve it. :D

Yeah, setting a goal is really important. It's like taking apidexin to lose weight fast and get the body figure that one aims. It will really make me feel good once I am able to buy myself that camera. I have to have the determination, though. :D

Back To Work and A Sweet Tag...

I'm back to work since Sunday morning. I was thrilled to be back at the office. I missed my friends and the stay-at-home vacation got me all fired up to take calls once again. :D Now I agree that vacation leaves are the best medication for being burn out from work.

Recently, the management are giving out incentives for overtime takers. Agents got even more enthusiastic on extending a few more hours at work to take advantage of the perks. As for me, I render OT's on my rest days. Some of my colleagues are doing the extremes. Some seemed like they don't sleep anymore. That for sure, I won't do to myself. I'm too scared to get sick. Besides, how will you be able to provide good customer service when you're exhausted? Well, it seems like it works for them but not for me.

Work obviously took most of my time lately that's why I haven't updated this blog recently. Although I still was able to do my daily Entrecard dropping chore and was able to read posts of my favorite bloggers. A sweet post of a friend of mine, Ate Bingkee of I Love/Hate America, made my day! She tagged me the Sweet Blog Award! Sweet! :D

Thanks Ate Bing!

This is actually just a quick post. Anyone can grab that sweet bear and tag it to sweet people you know in the blogosphere! I have to go to work!

Take care ya'll! :D

Commemorating Philippine Independence

Today marks the 112th Philippine Independence Day! Just in time for the President-elect Benigno Simeon "Noynoy" Cojuangco Aquino III was proclaimed as the winner of this year's presidential election 3 days ago. I bet, it's about time for us to be free from the Gloria Macapagal Arroyo regime!

Today is a holiday but ever since GMA became the President, whenever the holidays fall on a weekend, she moves it on Mondays so everyone gets to spend long weekends with families and friends. A decision which President-elect Noynoy Aquino resent especially moving Independence Day. This is what he said:

“What we were yesterday, what we are today, and whatever we will be in the future are made possible only because of our freedom to live our lives to their fullest potential. No other day but Independence Day reflects the common aspirations of past, present and future generations of Filipinos... For those who willingly offered everything to country – even fight to death – Independence Day embodies our proud achievements as a people. As inheritors of the patriotic legacy of exemplary forebears, we now seem to take Independence Day for granted – which is absolutely deplorable and inexcusable.”

“Moving Independence Day is a sin”

Being the son of the 2 Filipino icons (the late Ninoy Aquino, Jr. and the late Pres. Cory Aquino), and have been through a lot during the Marcos regime, I can clearly understand President-elect Noynoy Aquino's sentiment.

Philippine Independence Day is the country's annual celebration of our freedom from the Spanish colonization in June 12, 1898 which was declared by General Emilio Aguinaldo. It was the day when the Philippines' flag was raised and our national anthem was sang for the first time. It's also the day that we remember those people who fought for their lives for our countries liberation from the colonizers.

Freedom is indeed the best gift that our ancestors have given us. It should always be remembered and cherished!

2010 MTV Movie Awards

I watched the MTV Movie Awards on TV yesterday. Boy! It's the only show where I heard the word "f**k" being said a lot of times. Profanity was definitely showcased on the awards night. And they rate the show TV-14? Geez! Parents should really be careful with what their kids are watching on TV nowadays.

The show was hosted by the comedian Aziz Ansari. The winners are voted by the public so I won't have to doubt why the Best Movie award went to The Twilight Saga: New Moon not to James Cameron's Avatar. I'm kind of disappointed, actually. And guess what? Most of the awards were given to The Twilight Saga: New Moon. Sigh!

Here are the winners for 2010 MTV Movie Awards:

Best Movie - The Twilight Saga: New Moon

Best Male Performance - Robert Pattinson in The Twilight Saga: New Moon

Best Female Performance - Kristen Stewart in The Twilight Saga: New Moon

Breakthrough Performance - Anna Kendrick in Up in the Air

Best Villain - Tom Felton in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

Best Comedic Performance - Zach Galifianakis in The Hangover

Best Kiss - Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson in The Twilight Saga: New Moon

Best Fight - Beyoncé Knowles vs. Ali Larter (from Obsessed)

Best WTF Moment - Naked Trunk Surprise – Ken Jeong (from The Hangover)

Best Scared-As-S**t Performance - Amanda Seyfried in Jennifer's Body

Biggest Badass Star - Rain in Ninja Assassin

Global Superstar - Robert Pattinson

MTV Generation - Sandra Bullock

After Sandra Bullock's recent divorce controversy, she showed up in the awards night looking so pretty and sexy in her black dress. Although she made some remarks to the paparazzi who have been pestering her life recently, she still looked stunning! She received the MTV Generation award, I so love the clip that was made for her before her acceptance speech. I have watch most of her movies and I'm truly a fan! And Oh! She kissed Scarlett Johanssen as the latter requested for it after her speech! :D Nah! Another one of their gimmicks, I guess! Just like what Madonna and Britney did before. Well, for you entertainment, here's a photo of Sandy and Scarlett kissing onstage! :D

Do I Need A Credit Card?

I'm not at all a shopaholic. I seldom shop, actually. That's because I really don't have lots of money to spend. :D

If ever I get extra blessings, I spend most of it on important things (i.e. food, bills to pay, savings). Sometimes I envy other people who gets to buy whatever they want without worrying that their pocket gets drained out the next day. How I wish I can be like them.

I'm not into credit, too. I don't even own a credit card. That's one thing that I remember my father taught me when I was young - to never have debt. I feel worry-free when I don't owe someone some money. Although I know a lot of people who uses credit cards like a Visa reward card and were able to pay up their bills on time. I know I can do that. My cousin, Michelle once told me that credit cards are important especially when emergency situation arises. Sometimes I get tempted to get a credit card but I'm afraid of the annual fees, maybe late fees that I might incur if ever I won't be able to pay it on time. I'm also scared of ending up dependent on it. Nah! I'm not just used to it, that's why.

I know there are a lot of credit card companies that will provide options and good offers for beginners like me. I still have to assess myself and see if I really need one.

Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time

As planned, the birthday girl - Joanna and I with our friend Sunday, went to watch the movie Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time yesterday afternoon. It was a weekend so the movie house was packed as expected! I'm actually not used to watching movies on weekends because of the crowd. That's why I'm grateful that my rest days from work fall on weekdays. :D

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is based on a video game about a prince who teamed up with a princess to save the world from the enemies. I never played the game, unfortunately. I'm not into video games even when I was young anyways.

A typical story of good versus evil which is set in the lands of Persia. Dastan (Jake Gyllenhaal) who grew up as a young boy in the slums of Persia was adopted by King Sharaman (Ronald Pickup) after seeing his courage while being chased by the King's men in the market. He grew up as a Prince and a mighty warrior. His life changed after successfully invading the Holy City of Alamut where he found a mystical dagger that brings him to his Destiny.

After knowing the importance of the dagger from the beautiful Princess Tamina (Gemma Arterton), together they made their way to saving the world from Dastan's Uncle who actually planned the killing of King Sharaman and the invasion of Alamut so he can have an ultimate power from the dagger. Prince Dastan and Princess Tamina have to deal with the tax evaders, the Hassansins, the snakes which by the way scared me the most! Grrrr!

To sum it all up, the movie was great! They've got amazing effects, great stunts and great story! I'm just glad we didn't watch it in 3D. Or else those freaking snakes will look sooo real! LOL! But to those who want the feel of the effects in the movie, I bet it's nice to watch it on 3D! Just don't tell me that I didn't warn you about the snakes! :D

Bored With My Stay-At-Home Vacation Leave

I'm already getting bored with my stay-at-home vacation. My right eye has already healed from soar eyes. I have finished all the household chores and did my laundry.

What kept me a bit busy is my online assignments which I was able to finish on time. Thank God I was on leave from work. If I wasn't, I'll get so stressed out for sure because I had a lot of online opportunities this week.

My soar eyes was kind of a blessing in disguise, actually. I was able to practice with the choir members at church almost every night. We're preparing for an inter-church choir contest this month. I'm glad I'm part of the group!

I also was able to help out my brother and his wife find a job online. They're still searching for agencies who will hire both of them in the Middle East. They haven't found one yet, unfortunately.

Other than recuperating from soar eyes, I was able to get a lot of sleep. My acne have somehow healed. I'm being patient with the treatment that I'm undergoing. As the cliche goes, "patience is a virtue". I better keep my fingers crossed with the treatment. I really hope it's going to work. I want my acne-free face back!

I have watched most of the movies at HBO and kept browsing the channels on TV. I am not a voracious reader. My books and magazines were just beside me, unread and just a bit browsed. :D I'm really stubborn with books, you know.

My supervisor told me to report back to work on June 13. That's another week of boredom. I might go back to work this week anyways. I miss work! Seriously, I really do. And I miss my friends already. I know that I'll be fit to work this coming Sunday or Monday. It depends on what my doctor will tell me. I still have to set an appointment with him before reporting back to work.

I'm really bored with this leave. I'm still glad I was able to take a break, though!

Gotta Get Our High School Figure Back!??

My roommate, Joanna and I were viewing some of our high school pictures online earlier. We kept ranting about how we used to be so slim and how hard it is to get that high school figure back! Which is definitely impossible to get since both of us don't do something about it. We don't even exercise. We sometimes think about going on a diet but both of us are not consistent. And here we are ranting about how to get slimmer.

I know it's not impossible to be fit. All we have to do is go get some exercise and really discipline ourselves with our food intake and just stick to our diet. It will help if we eat foods that burn fat (e.g. ginger, cinnamon, citrus fruits, green tea and many others). These foods will help us increase our metabolism and burn the unwanted fats.

That's a lot of work to do. Sigh! :D

Filipino Gorgeuos Actors...

Filipino actors like Robin Padilla, Cesar Montano, Aga Muhlach and many others don't seem to age. They still look gorgeous and really fabulous even on their late 40's. Their leading ladies now on their films are mostly young actresses who used to be their little sisters in their younger years in the movie industry. It's either they're taken care of by their dermatologists and live a healthy life of they apply wrinkle filler or other cosmetics on their face to look younger on-screen. :D

Either way, they really are handsome men on Philippine TV and a lot women love them!

I am looking forward to Aga Muhlach's films this year. It was reported that he will tandem with actresses/Asia's songbird Regine Velasquez once again and with the young and beautiful Angel Locsin. Whenever he does a romantic movie, it's definitely a box-office hit here in the Philippines!

I Also Want A Vacay Abroad! :D

My friend Quelly went off for a vacation in Hong Kong with her husband and stepdaughters yesterday. Quelly was the friend of mine whom I spent enjoyable time with at a hotel a few weeks ago. We stayed in a not-so-expensive but decent hotel in Makati which has nice amenities. It has a pool and a nice room with Hansgrohe faucet, has hot and cold shower and a gym. It was really fun being with her!

Now, she's off to another vacation! I wish I went with her. Unfortunately it was a family vacation. Besides, I don't have money to spend for a grandiose vacay. :D

My cousin Lainy is also about to travel this month to Quala Lumpur. I'm happy for her. She so deserve to take a break and travel!

I wish I can also travel abroad next year. :D I'm envious, aren't I?

Here Comes The Rain! :D

Rainy Season Scraps, glitter, and pictures

The summer has ended here in the Philippines! Rainy days has come! No more humid atmosphere! No more tremendous heat! And best of all, I can sleep at home without perspiring anymore! We don't have air-conditioned unit so you just can imagine how appreciative I am of this season! :D

However, since it's now rainy season, we will be expecting flooding in some parts of the country. Talking about extreme weather, you know! When it's Summer, we experience super hot season. And when it rains, it pours really hard! Sigh! I hope the disaster last year, the Typhoon Ketsana (Ondoy) which flooded the luzon area, won't happen again this year.

I just bought a new umbrella in preparation for the rainy days. The previous umbrella was pretty used up during summer. It won't be too cold here in Manila but at least it's not so hot anymore.

Thank God for the rain!

Pricking Is Bad For The Face...

I have been reading articles about the causes of acne. I am suffering from acne breakout that's why I seek for treatment. I have actually asked for professional help and I am now undergoing treatment.

On most articles that I've read, one cause of acne is pricking. Like what my doctor had told me, it is really very hard to resist pricking the pimples or blackheads at times. But we have to avoid doing it because it's going to make the simple pimple problem worse. Like what happened to my face. Now I have to spend a lot of money just for treatment.

And like what my dermatologist said, the treatment is going to take a while to take effect. I have to wait for my body, or face in particular, to get used to the treatment. I need to be patient.

I'm just glad that I'm on leave from work right now. I was able to not only recuperate from having soar eyes, I was also able get a lot of sleep. That's beauty rest for me! :D

Reviews like acneticin review online could be helpful. We get to see information about the products that we want to use and double check them with our doctors. It's helpful that we get facts from the internet or from the professionals rather than keep trying different products on our face. Instead of beautiful results, we end up getting depressed of the outcome.

Spending To Get Fit And Fab????

Promises of getting fit for myself is again, broken. I should at least take a walk somewhere to burn the fats that I've incurred this past few months. As usual, I'm being stubborn. And I'm talking crap about getting fit on this blog again. LOL!

Honestly, I really wanted to get fit and fabulous, you know. Who doesn't? Some quick weight loss methods are actually available nowadays. However, you have to spend a lot of money for some methods (e.g. liposuction, weight loss programs, fast weight loss pills). Not only money, you also have to spend time and effort for some, like going to the gym.

The easiest way to lose weight especially to busy people like me is taking diet supplements or diet pills. I can't afford liposuction and with my schedule, I won't have time to go to the gym.

All I have to do is make a research about the diet supplements or diet pills that I'll choose to take. Best to consult the doctor before taking such just to be safe. I should make sure that my money is worth the spending just to get fit and fabulous.

Had A Blast With Gerri!

I had a blast today! I went to see an old friend, Gerri, at Glorrietta Mall this afternoon. She's a friend of mind since college days. We sang together in the school choir and upstage during college days. We had gigs together during those days. We did have great memories together since we share the same passion which is music.

A lot had happened since college. We seldom see each other because I chose to find a job here in Manila. She just came back from her application exams in a company in Abu Dhabi where she's hoping to work. She's some kind of a "jet-setter" lately. I envy her! I wish I can just travel overseas for free sometime! LOL!

We had a tete-tete at Starbucks in Greenbelt. We also chatted while walking past the malls in Ayala and had a taste of Dairy Queen's yummy ice cream. There were a lot of things to catch up but it seemed like there wasn't enough time. We talked about a lot of things. Our lives in particular. I just miss those days when we just sit together on-stage and sing our hearts out. The days when we can do things that we really love.

Nah! I'm being bitter again. Those are really fun memories with Gerrie! I'm just glad I was able to spend those days with her and was able to build a friendship with this wonderful person! Love you Gerri!

The best part of today's date with Gerlyn is playing the Guitar Hero at Glorrietta 4's Time Zone! It was soooo coool! I hope we can do this again when she gets back here in Manila.

Rock n' Roll Marekoy! I really had a great time with you!

Getting Bored Of Being On Leave...

My friends at work and I kept ranting about our bulging tummies. With the nature of our job, we get to just sit down for like 10 hours, except during our breaks. When we're on our rest days for 3 days, we prefer to just get enough sleep. No exercise at all!

Lately we have been trying to discipline ourselves by not eating too much. It's really hard! I bet taking nuphedragen will help us with our weight loss goal.

Since I haven't been around at work this past week, and won't be around for a few more days, I wonder if they will find me fat again. I haven't done any exercises while on leave and been eating actually. I'm getting bored of being on leave already!
