Working as a customer service representative at Emerson Electric Ltd. needed lots of training especially to people like myself who didn't have knowledge about machineries and engineering technology. I'm a Mass Communications graduate and so far, the things I've learned here at Emerson is definitely not related to my bachelor's degree aside from oral communications, of course. But product per se (e.g. bearings, belts, hydraulic cartridge and other mechanical and technical stuffs) I really didn't have any idea until I started my training.
I've been with the company for more than 4 months now and there are still a lot of things to learn. I'm happy that to be gaining knowledge and I'm enjoying it so far. I have gone "live" already, meaning I've been working like a tenured customer service rep, taking calls and not kept all day in a boring training room. Although there instances that we have to join training sessions for few hours with our trainer. Whenever I don't know what customer is talking about, I have my colleagues whom I can ask around.
I like it here. Two more months and I'll be a regular employee. I'd be able to enjoy other benefits that this company offers. I can't wait for that! :)
