All In A Day's Work For Alley

All in a day's work. I'm glad I'm done with chores.

I heard another typhoon is coming to town this afternoon. Sigh. I hope it won't be as strong as Typhoon Pedring. I don't want to be late or not be able to get to work tonight. Or else I won't get paid. I'm not yet a regular employee that's why I'm not entitled of any vacation or sick leaves. I have to wait for 3 more months before I become a regular employee and enjoy all the other benefits at work. I can't wait.

I got 2 more days left to work for this week. I hope I can get some rest this weekend.

Tomorrow is gonna be another busy day for me. I better get some sleep now.

I'm a bit sad because I'm expecting even just a text message from someone. Sigh. Gotta hit the sack. :(

Forensic Science - An Action Packed Career

I like watching real life drama of Criminal Investigators on T.V. and also crime shows like NCIS and CIA. I like the way how crimes scenes are being investigated. I also kept wondering how much these forensic investigators are being paid in the United States in doing a very risky and complicated job. Well, in looking at the graphics below, they seem to get a good pay. Forensic Science could be a great career move especially to those who like to solve cases of crimes scenes and bring justice to those who deserve it.

Signal No. 2 In Metro Manila

Another typhoon had made its landfall here in Metro Manila at 5 o'clock this morning. Exactly the same time for me to go home after an 8-hour shift from work. Typhoon Pedring has been all over the news since last night. It actually made itself known earlier in the province of Aurora. A lot of people, especially those who live near the sea and other places in the province, have already gone to the evacuation centers prepared by the government. Students were already informed about not having a class today because of the bad weather. Why can't work get suspended as well when the weather is this bad??? :D

I'm in my room now. Thank God I was able to go home safely. Thanks to my colleague who gave me a lift in her car on my way home. I really didn't have a hard time commuting. It scares me when this kind of typhoon hits Metro Manila. And it's really a hassle especially when I'm on my way to work. I can just imagine what's going to happen on my shift later. :(

I can hear the strong wind blowing outside and the rain falling heavily on the roofs and the streets. I hope I'd still be able to get some sleep later despite this bad weather.

Money And Budgeting

For ordinary employees like myself, we are always excited about pay-days. We work hard for 8 hours a day and for 5 days in a week. Always looking forward to the next payout. When we get our pay, that's when we do budgeting because most of us, our salary is just enough to pay the bills, allowances and some other personal stuffs.

I always have a problem with sticking to my budget. Whenever need arises, sometimes I can't follow whatever I have written down on a piece of paper for budgeting. That's why, even though I'm single, I can't add some money to my savings account because I can't seem to help myself from spending.

I think I better cut down some unnecessary expenses so I can save some of my money. I don't want to be begging money from my Mom if ever I get sick or for whatever reason. If I'd be able to save or invest my money into something worth it like investing for annuities online, I'll be able to earn some more and save myself from poverty. LOL!

I don't want to regret in the future, that's all. :)

Swollen Eyes...

I wasn't able to go to work last Monday of this week because my eyes became swollen after, I guess, they were bitten by a minute insect. I thought it was just one eye that's going to swell, but then in few minutes, after scratching (again) lightly the side of my other eye, it also got infected. I put hot compress on both eyes expecting they will just go back to normal but to no avail. It was funny because I looked like I came from a boxing match and got punched in the eyes! LOL! I ended up staying at home and not been able to report to work.

I felt even more frustrated because when I woke up yesterday and took a look at my face in the mirror, the swelling still hasn't subsided. I felt like I was looking at someone else's face. My problem was, I couldn't go out because I was scared that people will wonder what happened to my face. Thank God it was a sunny Tuesday morning that I was able to wear my Bolle sunglasses to cover up my bulging eyes. I was supposed to see a doctor but I got lazy and decided to just take a rest. I was having a headache at the same time that's why I preferred to stay at home.

I finally went to work last night even though the swelling on my eyes hasn't completely subsided. My boss told me I should not have gone to work and was a bit worried about me. Well, I didn't want to have another day of unpaid leave since I'm not yet a regular employee at work. I guess I didn't have a choice but to be there. Besides, work really isn't stressful so I decided to be productive despite my situation.

Right now, I'm happy that the swelling finally healed. I placed hot compress on my eyes while I was at work and somehow had a few quick naps during my breaks. My eyes are now back to normal and my head doesn't hurt anymore. I'm glad I won't have to go to the doctor today!

I hope it was just an insect bite that caused the swelling. I didn't want it to be some kind of a food allergy because I don't want the ugly swelling to ever happen again. Besides, I don't want the allergies prevent me from eating the food that I love to eat! :P

Remembering 9/11/2001

I'm watching the History Channel right now. It's this time of the year , 9/11, that people around the world, especially the citizens of the United States of America, remember the most horrific terrorist attack. It was 10 years ago, September 11, 2001 when the World Trade Center was destroyed. Both towers collapsed right in the very eyes of the horrified spectators.

History Channel is airing the dreadful event which will always be remembered. I can feel for those who were there. It must have been very devastating. A lot of innocent people died. Some lost their lives for trying to save others. I'm having goosebumps while watching the videos taken during the dreadful day.

It happened 10 years ago. it was quite a while but I know people will never forget the terror brought about by the 9/11 attack.

Hoping To Comfort A Friend

One of my friends is going through rough times recently. She and her husband are not in good terms right now. They're not yet separated but she's planning to move out together with her son as soon as she gets a job. Her son is already 5 years old, big enough for her to put him in an uppababy vista stroller when she gets out of their house. She won't have a hard time bringing her son with her anymore since he's a big boy now.

I really feel bad about her situation. They've been married for more than five years. I can't believe it's so easy for them to ruin what they had.

I haven't visited my friend yet and haven't known the story behind the break up. I can feel she's devastated but trying real hard to hide the pain she's going through. I wish I have the time to be with her and somehow comfort her. I hope I can find the time soon enough.

A Lunch Box For My Baby...:)

Some of my friends and former colleagues have been posting pictures of their newly born babies on a social networking site. I love viewing them on my spare time. I'm so happy for my friends for having such cute babies. Sometimes I can't help but feel envious because at my age, I also would love to have my own baby. I'd like to know how it really feels like being a Mom and taking care of my family. It would have been nice if sooner, I'll just be counting the years when I'll be preparing my child's food for school and place them on a personalized lunch box. I bet my baby will be very proud bringing his or her lunch box at school and brag the delicious food that I prepared.

What a very nice thought! I just caught myself daydreaming again! LOL!

Looking Fabulous During Winter

It has been raining cats and dogs here in Metro Manila lately. Weather reports say there are no upcoming typhoons, just Southwest Monsoon which is brought by typhoons in the tropics. It has been windy as well, especially during the afternoons and evenings. It's good because I'm able to get a good sleep during daytime (as you know, I work nights). Whenever I go to work, I always wish I wear one of those fur coats for women to keep me warm and at the same time fashionable. :)

While I was at work today, and didn't have anything to do, I was browsing some fashion websites and checked out the winter clothing that's "in" right now. I came across ML Furs and saw a lot of very nice fur coats. They're all trendy and chic and really fabulous. It made me want to buy one of those, unfortunately, I'm on budget right now. But surely, I'll be buying one of those one of these days.

Winter clothing especially jackets and coats are real necessities during this time of the year. We don't want to be shivering in the cold. Women like me don't just wear them to keep us warm, we also would want to look fabulous with those coats and other winter clothing!
