Happy Birthday Brandon Zyl!

I'm home! And as you all know, I'm home to celebrate my nephew's birthday bash. We spent it at home. We cooked some recipes and my brother's in-laws bought some more food, a birthday cake, an ice cream and balloons to make the little kid know it is indeed his birthday! :D

I'm so glad I'm able to spend more time with this nephew of mine. I love you, Brandon. I wish you'd grow up to be a good boy to everyone of us! Happy Birthday!

A 40th Year For A Friend

What's up with turning 40? I still wonder why people get anxious about turning 40 when there's saying that goes,"Life Begins at 40".

I'm not turning 40 years old this year yet! LOL! I'd worry about that 10 years from now. :D It's a friend of mine who's birthday is coming soon. I keep hearing her say, "I am really getting old!". And would always reply, "Everyone is!". Ah! Her jitters gets annoying sometimes. But I can stand her.

I have no idea what my 40th birthday gifts for her would be. I just hope that whatever I'd decide to bring, it will make her happy. I also wish for her to stop worrying about getting old and just be happy that another year is being granted to her by the Almighty.

28 Years Old And Counting! :D

Last week, I have been very emotional. Well it's just another one of my "birthday blues". Just like last year, I felt really sad about not being with my family and I was a bit stressed out. There's a lot going on at work and some "personal" stuff. I was able to overcome it though, by the help of God. And I'm glad that I was able to celebrate my birthday with a smile on my face! I had an extraordinary birthday celebration last Friday which I posted on my other blog.

Right now, I'm well. Although still a bit worried about my job. I'm so scared to mess it all up. I hope I won't. But I don't want to think about it for now. LOL!

I had a few birthday wishes. Some of them are the usual: good health and a successful career and many more birthdays to come. I wish for my Mom to be happy. I wish to be able to find the love of my life since I'm not getting any younger. LOL! I also wish to continue to serve the Lord in the best of my abilities.

I'm 28 years old now... and counting! LOL! Geez! How come I still don't feel old? :D

Can't Reach My Mom On Her Birthday...:(

Today is my Mother's birthday but I haven't talked to her over the phone yet. Her phone is unattended again. I have been trying to call her but to no avail. She's not at home according to my brother, she's not with my Aunts and she's also not with her friend today. I wonder where she is right now. I hope I'd be able to talk to her later today.

Wherever you are right now, Mother dear, I hope you're doing okay. I love you and Happy birthday Nanay! I hope you'll try to have fun today. I wish I'm with you. Sigh! You're always in my prayers, Nay! Mwaaah!

Nauseous But Had A Great Time With Friends

I got home a few minutes ago feeling nauseous. I ate plenty of food before I went on my way home. The pollution in EDSA, a few minutes ride in the bus and walking past 2 footbridges made me really dizzy. A cup of coffee and a few minutes at the comfort room made me feel better! LOL!

I was with friends earlier today : Judith and Julie and Julie's cuddly 3-year old boy - Lajon. Today is Judith's birthday and we decided to celebrate it at Julies new home after my workout this morning. Judith and I were the first friends of Julie who invaded her newly renovated home. We brought along with us some delicious foods (pancit Malabon and piche-piche) from our favorite Ambers Restaurant.

Geez! Why couldn't I control myself from eating a lot? Then I have to punish myself on my workout tomorrow. It's going to be an intense workout for sure!

It's a happy day, to say the least. I was able to celebrate a dear friend's birthday! And was able to bond with true friends and wrestle with the little-big boy! I'll be posting the photos tomorrow.

Marmi's Birthday Bash...

My colleagues and I headed to Cavite, which is an hour ride from Makati, after work last Tuesday. We went there to have some fun and basically to celebrate a wonderful colleague's birthday - Marmi. She's a sweet lady and she's everybody's friend.

We have planned for it for weeks. We couldn't make up our minds with what gift to give her. It would have been better if it's personalized gifts. Since everyone was busy, we ended up buying the gift from the mall.

We decided to celebrate the birthday bash at Marmi's sister's house in Cavite.

I cooked spaghetti for the group! One of our friends, Ate Carylle, made sinigang for dinner. Everyone helped, of course! I just loved the team work! :D

The boys and some of the girls drank beer. I wasn't feeling well so I didn't join the drinking session with them. There was karaoke but since I was sick with cold and dry cough, I wasn't able to sing. Too bad, isn't it? :D

I had fun spending the night with my friends. I was glad to have met Marmi who's such a nice person and I'm glad I was able to somehow make her happy on her natal day.

Suggestions For Fave Aunt's Birthday Gift...

My cousin Lainy's Mom, Aunt Rose, is celebrating her birthday soon. She was hoping that her upcoming birthday will be a blast. She wanted friends to be there and the Kuerdas Band to be performing live! Her wish is finally coming true! In fact, it's going to be sexy and so much party, party, party! Too bad I can't be there! :(

Her birthday is due this coming 1st of May. It will be held in the evening at Tropicana Beach Resort in GenSan where at the same time is the opening of the 2010 Bikini Open!!! Sizzling Hotttt, isn't it??? :D Kuerdas Band is going to perform live for the audience!

My favorite Aunt is turning 50, yet she doesn't look like her age. Maybe because of her happy and witty persona that keeps her young. Or does she order stuffs at http://www.topwrinklecream.org? I better ask. She's still beautiful and stunning! I am still thinking about what gift to give to her. Any suggestions???

Not Exactly A Birthday Bash...

I ended up going home after watching the movie Clash Of The Titans last night. Joanne wanted to watch it in 3D so off we went to Market Market in Taguig City. That is after we had our meal at Chicken World in Glorietta. We actually wasn't able to finish up our meals since we were in a hurry for the movie. It felt like I just took supplements for weight loss since it really was a light meal! :D

I didn't go gaga over the movie at all because I really wasn't a fan of mythology. Not like the amusement I felt after watching Avatar which was starred by the same actor in Clash Of The Titans - Sam Worthington. He has this voice that's really manly and sexy, you know. I just love to listen to him whenever he delivers his lines. :D I will be making a different post about the movie later.

All in all, my birthday went just fine. It wasn't exactly a birthday bash. At least I had something to do on my natal day. As soon as I got home, I watched the movie Iron Man in HBO and dozed off to sleep. I hope next year's birthday will be much better, though.

Birthday Blues...

I'm officially 27! Yey!

I started my day by doing my Church service early this morning. I thanked God for adding another year to my life. I feel blessed because I have been healthy all throughout the year. I hope for continuous health and happiness this year. Thank You, Lord for all the goodness!

I have received a lot of greetings from friends and relatives since 12 in the morning but not from my Mom and brothers yet. I bet they've forgotten about my birthday. Well, I still have all day to wait. Besides, my Mom is still in the hospital and my brother hasn't told me when I can call him so I can talk to her. My Mom doesn't have a phone that's why we seldom talk.

I'm just at home right now, in the midst of our dark room. It makes me feel the birthday blues all the more. Why do I feel sad when I should be celebrating, right? I'm getting old and I still haven't made my Mom become proud of me. And here I am, undecided with which career path to choose.

My room mate Joana and I are planning to go out and watch a movie later. That might light up my mood. I have to get out of here and do something memorable this day. Czarina won't be around because she went home to the province. It would've been better if she's here.

After the movie, Joana will go straight to work and I'll be left alone, again. I wonder where my feet will take me tonight. Sigh. I hate being alone on my birthday. :(

My Mom's 63rd Birthday...

I haven't been online because of the outages going on around here. Although I went to some places to visit friends. And when I'm home, we don't have internet connection and my broadband tattoo doesn't have connection at home either. So I needed stay at Lainy's house to get connected to the internet.

Anyway, let me update you with how my Mom's birthday party turned out. It went well. On March 13th, I bought her a birthday cake for her 63rd birthday. Aunt Rose grilled fish for her and my cousin Jay Son made "fish kinilaw" for our lunch which I really liked!

Me and my Mom went to buy her outfit after wards for my brother's oath-taking which was held the next day. It was the same day that we all agreed to celebrate for her birthday.

We went to the mall. We bickered a lot like we used to do. We spent hours just finding the best outfit for her. It was really exhausting. I even lost her in the mall. Since she doesn't have a phone because she doesn't know how to use one, I have to ask at the paging counter to call her name out loud in the mall. I don't know. Most of the time, I can't stand my Mom's attitude. She's so noisy, I'm not. I'm the kind who wanted a calm and peaceful environment, she's not. Sigh. She always have something bad to say about things and people, worries a lot, quarrels almost all the people around her even her sisters and us - her children. She's tactless. She doesn't mind if she hurts someone else's feelings. She don't want to be reprimanded because she thinks she's right. Sigh. I have no choice. She's my Mom. I can't do anything about it.

Anyway, we were able to buy her outfit. She looked pretty on it. I was the one who did her make up. The oath-taking took place from 7am til 12 noon of March 14. It was the same day that Manny Pacquiao fought with Joshua Clottey so we expected that our visitors will not come on time. They have to watch the fight first. It was partly a late "lunch out" at Grab A Crab. It was Lainy who suggested the place. The place was nice and cozy and the food was great!

My Mom's sisters and some relatives were the ones who came and celebrated with us. I had fun chatting with my Aunts and cousins and my adorable nephew and nieces.

I'm not exactly sure though if my Mom had a good time back then. I hope she did.

Happy birthday Nanay! I love you and I will always go home to you despite our differences! I hope I can make you proud and happy some day.
