Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon

My flight from Puerto Prinsesa, Palawan was an hour early. I didn't have the time to buy some souvenirs anymore to give to my friends back here in Manila. I was a little disappointed when I was on my way home. Puerto Prinsesa is such a beautiful place and there are a lot of other places there that I wanted to go to but I didn't have the time anymore. I am really hoping to go back there and explore some more of Puerto Prinsesa. I'll be posting some pictures soon.

As soon as I got home yesterday, I immediately laid on my bed because I got exhausted from the trip. I was about to get some sleep when my friend Judith called me up on my phone. You see, I posted on my Facebook wall that I wanted to watch the movie Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon. Then there came Judith and asked me out to go see the movie. Another movie treat from her which I am really thankful of! :D

I'm not really a huge fan of Transformers even when I was a kid. It's totally a boy's world for me and really wasn't interested in robots. But when I watched the first movie, it was so exciting and entertaining! The action on all the sequels kept putting me at the edge of my seat. I still haven't memorized the names of all the Autobots and their enemies, the Decepticons. I just know Optimus Prime and love Bumble Bee! :D

Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon, introduced another woman in Sam Witwicky's (Shia LeBouf) life - the beautiful and sexy Carly Spencer (Rosie Huntington-Whiteley). Their chemistry is just a so-so for me. Not like that of Megan Fox's role as Mikaela Banes. His Mom and Dad are still funny and annoying! haha! Especially his Mom.

The movie also presented Sentinel who betrayed the Autobots and wanted to build Cybertron and rule over the planet Earth. But of course, the Autobots were able to defend the Earth and the human race and destroyed the pillars setup by the Decepticons. And they live happily ever after. LOL! Well, there were Autobots who unfortunately died. Which made some of the fans sad. Atleast it wasn't Prime Optimus or Bumble Bee who died! :D

I enjoyed watching the movie. Thanks to my friend, Judith, who never forget me as her movie date! Love you, gurlfriend!

The Social Network - Review

I normally go online with the intentions of blogging, finishing up my online chores. First thing I open is my mailbox to check on my messages. And then most of the mails in my inbox come from Facebook. So I'd then open my Facebook account and end up spending hours replying to comments, commenting on friends' status, checking on what my friends have been up to and viewing recent photos posted by friends. The only thing that I don't do with Facebook is playing the games like Farmville and all other apps that have become an addiction to many. By checking my Facebook account everyday or each time I open my laptop, I can say that I am one of those hooked with the social networking site!

I chanced to watch the movie The Social Network a couple of weeks ago. It made me appreciate Facebook all the more and made me become thankful for the genius behind Facebook - Mark Zuckerberg. Millions of people are now connected with their friends and loved ones through this networking site. It's way better than Friendster, Multiply, Twitter, etc. It really had changed our lives virtually!

Although not everything in the movie is accurate (especially the ex-girlfriend part as what the creator of Facebook claimed in the news), what is important is it made a nice representation of how Facebook came about.

The Social Network, as we all know, is a movie about a young Harvard dropout, Mark Zuckerberg who turned a school project into a multi-billion dollar empire. It started with getting himself drunk after being dumped by his girlfriend. He made the "FaceMash" with the help of his best friend who provided him the algorithm. It is a site about voting two pretty girls in campus which crashed the University's server and got him under probation as a punishment. He became popular and met the twin brothers Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss who offered him a job as a programmer of their website, Harvard Connection.

Zuckerberg ended up stealing the idea and made his own social networking site - TheFacebook which was financed by his best friend Eduardo Saverin. It gained popularity not only in Harvard but also in other schools in the US. It only expanded in other continents when Sean Parker, the co-founder of Napster, came along the way and also was the one who suggested the name - Facebook, instead of TheFacebook. Eduardo and Sean don't get along with each other. There were conflicts and drama between the 3 of them.

Mark ended up getting 2 lawsuits. One from his best friend since they cut his share much less than 3%. The other lawsuit was from the Winklevoss's. Both lawsuits got settled for millions of dollars. Well, Mark didn't seem to mind since he's now a billionaire! :D

I had a funny thought about having geeks as boyfriends because they have the bigger chance in becoming rich and famous! LOL!

I want to end this post with the line from Bruno Mars' song: "I want to be a billionaire, so freaking bad!" :D

RED - Retired Extremely Dangerous

RED - Retired Extremely Dangerous. It's an action-comedy film about a team of retired CIA agents who tries to live a serene, normal life when all of sudden they're lives are threatened by assassins. They become threats of CIA operations since they have learned information that they're not supposed to know.

Bruce Willis as Frank is back in action! He still look good at his age though. When he was on his way to courting the only woman she often talk to over the phone for his checks - Sarah (Mary-Louise Parker), he was attacked by several assassins at his home. Frank then seek help from other former agents: Joe (Morgan Freeman) - the happy-go-lucky, the funny paranoid Marvin (John Malkovich), and the beautiful Victoria (Helen Mirren). Of course, he have to bring along Sarah with him since her life is also in danger because she got involved with him.

They all worked together in finding out who ordered their assassination and ended up saving the Americans from a group of antagonists who wants to dominate the American government.

It's an action packed film where you wouldn't think that these former CIA agents happen to have read insurance quote. Their lives are always in danger, why not get insured, right? LOL! The action is incorporated with comedy so you'll definitely have fun watching it. Might even be surprised with how smart yet classy Helen Mirren looked when she has a machine gun in hand! :D
